Summer prep—possibility of using 4 Help Desk Students from July 1 forward to unbox machines, do initial power up checks, do template/Velcro prep, install laptops in cases—Steve will talk to Ed about this possibility & let Julie know what he finds out—if Ed is agreeable, Julie will discuss further w/Tom S. & Matt—possible commitment of school funds (DCHS suggestion) to get this done
Distribution in individual classrooms (2 @ a time, 4 per class period w/summer prep provided) w/team including 9th grade academy teacher, eTeam member, 2 building techs, 2 district techs, 2 individuals to manage trash (not needed if summer prep happens), C. Shelton & S. Scott (AHS), B. Benjamin & M. Constant (DCHS)
Parent training has been scheduled for Mon., Aug. 28, 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 100 of the DCPS Learning Center—attendance incentives will include giveaway of tool for completing internet history checks for parents, extra credit for students—publicity via flier, Catherine will get one of Jack Barrett’s students to design—summer post card mailing including a number of eLearning dates—spring letter to parents of rising 9th grade students—announcements via 54

D. Bishop e-mailed Susan an excel file on 3/17/06 that includes all textbooks in use grades 9-12 at AHS & DCHS.
As of 4/10/06, Catherine has provided Susan all AHS material except English & biology (which is being provided by DCHS).

DCHS—discussion planned w/J. Wilson due to there not being a class that all 9th graders have simultaneously; reinforcement will occur in computer applications & through advocate groups
