Curriculum Related

The following resources are subscription services.  This means that you must supply a name and a password to use them.  If you are a teacher, student or parent at Apollo High School, Daviess County High School or Beacon High School, contact your school's Staff Developer for these passwords.

Curriculum Pathways- a resource for high school English, Spanish, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. This site contains lesson plans, web resources and online activities.

Explore Learning—for Math and Science
ExploreLearning offers a catalog of modular, interactive simulations in math and science for teachers and students in grades 6-12. Their gizmos offer Math and Science “A-HA” moments – that miraculous instant when something inside your brain clicks and suddenly whatever was puzzling you now makes perfect sense.

 

Kentucky Virtual Library - Access to encyclopedias, magazines and articles, biographies, historic documents, book reviews and book discussion groups and more.  YOU WILL NOT NEED A PASSWORD AT SCHOOL, BUT YOU WILL NEED ONE AT HOME.

Bridges

Bridges includes all the tools high school students need to proactively manage their education and career options: 

TURNITIN - Teachers can check student work for plagiarism from web resources.  Teachers will set up a class account for each class and then students can submit their work to this common site.  Plagiarized sections will be marked.   Teachers, check with your media specialist for help with this software.  Students, your English teachers will instruct you on how to use this software.
 

KET ENCYCLOMEDIA  (United Streaming)-  Thousands of educational videos for use in your classes.  Videos can be downloaded for use when the Internet is not available.  Subjects can be searched by subject area, topic, grade or curriculum standard.
