In-School technical support in order of notification

If you find yourself with hardware problems that you can’t troubleshoot on your own, then DCPS offers these suggestions.

1. Ask at minimum three other laptop holding students if they know the solution to your specific concern.

2. Ask your current classroom teacher. DON’T disturb another class!

3. Ask Help Desk at AHS or E-team at DCHS (see schedules below)

4. Ask Ms. Gaddis at DCHS

5. Ask Brian Benjamin at DCHS

Go in order. Follow the steps.

DON’T GO STRAIGHT TO MR. CRADY OR MR. YOUNG!

Each school has different procedures to handle computer problems once step 3 is reached on the above plan. The following is a summary, by school, of how each school plans to resolve issues.

Apollo High School

AHS offers technical support, from 7:45 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. You will be able to report problems in person at the Help Desk station set up in Room 407 before school. During school hours, if you and your classroom teacher can not alleviate the problem that teacher should call the Help Desk room at ext. 407 to request a Help Desk student technician. Repairs are not always possible on the spot so be prepared to leave it with the technicians if requested.

Daviess County High School

At DCHS there will always be at least two adults on staff to assist you if you have a laptop related need. The adults are administrators and teachers who are available in their planning time to assist you. Please, don’t request these teachers for assistance other then his or her posted E-team time because that would disturb a class. Rather, follow the posted schedule below:

eTEAM: Kristi Mehringer (1st block planning) x227

Stephen Hall (1st block planning) x161

Angela Gunter (1st block planning) x135

Renee Perkins (2nd block planning) x158

Chris Renfrow (2nd block planning) x213

Amber Shelton (3rd block planning) x2191

Brian Benjamin (Any block) x521

Karen Gaddis (Any block) x195

If your hard drive fails, DCPS will replace or reformat your hard drive. You should always back up your files that are on your hard drive by performing a system restore back up. Instructions on this procedure can easily be followed within IBM’s help files. Also, DCPS provides network storage space where you can save some of your critical documents, but there is a file size limit so do not become dependent on the network drive.
