http://members.aol.com/sun1dance/shakespeare/renfair.htm

This is an introduction to the Renaissance period.  It is a great way to introduce Shakespeare.  My students had to explore the time period in which Shakespeare was writing and produce their own Renaissance Faire.  Each member of a group was assigned a special role, such as chef, business manager, writer, artistic director, and costume designer.  After researching this material the group members had to come together and create their own web page to advertise their faire.  This is a great activity that includes independent as well as group work and it gives the students an opportunity to e creative with their research
